Mention Nicolas Cage, and you’ll either be met with a nod of respect or a dramatic flinch.
The actor’s latest film is a supernatural thriller called Between Worlds, which follows a truck driver named ‘Joe’ (Cage) who is haunted by the memory of his wife and child, both of whom had passed on.
He then meets ‘Julie’ (Franka Potente), a spiritually-inclined woman who enlists him in a bid to locate the lost soul of her comatose daughter, ‘Billie’ (Penelope Mitchell).
Rotten Tomatoes recently released the poster for the film, and moviegoers think it’s so clichéd, it’s perfect.
The artwork sees a gun-wielding Cage crowded by flames. Want to convince someone that a movie is going to turn out great? Add more effects to its poster. No, more.
Film buffs have joked about how the over-the-top artwork “is the most Nicolas Cage thing” they have ever seen. “We’ve reached peak-Cage,” said one user. Check it out below.
