While advances in HIV medication have been proven to decrease infection rates, it has also caused some gay men to become complacent about using condoms.

Australian condom manufacturer Celebrate Condoms decided to create this PSA dubbed ‘Just Peachy’ that aims to raise the awareness about safe sex among gay and bisexual men. The ad features a peach and an eggplant getting intimate. Before getting it on, the eggplant decides to slip on Celebrate Condom’s beautiful rainbow sock.

The fun spot was made after a study showed that the number of HIV-negative men popping PrEP pills to protect themselves increased from two percent to 24 percent between 2013 and 2017. The study involved 17,000 gay and bisexual men across Victoria and New South Wales.

PrEP pills lower the chances of getting infected for people who are at very high risk of contracting HIV. Despite a plunge in the usage of condoms, the amount of men on PrEP having casual sex rose from one percent to 16 percent.

Celebrate Condom’s Tim Browning said that the hilarious animated video aims to engage a younger audience and demonstrate that safe sex can be fun, thus challenging the stereotype that condoms are “boring product[s].” The ad is inspired by emojis that millennials use in “sexting” or in dating apps such as GrindR.
